One of the most respected selections in the industry takes place during Essência do Vinho – Porto, an annual event held at the historic Palácio da Bolsa, in the center of Porto.
During the festival, the TOP 10 Portuguese Wines tasting takes place, organized based on a pre-selection made by Revista de Vinhos, one of the most influential publications in the sector.
The wines are evaluated through blind tastings, meaning the judges do not know which producer, brand, or region they are tasting. The evaluation panel brings together wine critics, journalists, sommeliers, and Masters of Wine from several countries, ensuring a technical and independent analysis.
In the most recent edition, 61 previously selected wines were evaluated by specialists from 14 nationalities, representing different markets and international perspectives.
The result is a list that helps highlight some of the most interesting wines produced in Portugal—many of which go on to gain even greater recognition in the global market.
