    • Dependent parents-in-law
    • Family members with serious health issues under your personal care

When to Apply for the EU Family Member Residence Card

The application must be submitted within 30 days after the three-month residence period in Portugal, according to AIMA.

If entry into the country occurs through another Schengen airport, remember to submit the Entry Declaration in Portugal.

If the European citizen does not yet have formalized residence and is a national of another EU country besides Portugal, it is necessary to first request the European Registration Certificate (CREU/CREU).
